AVAG Midwifery Academy Amsterdam-Groningen

Midwifery Academy Groningen and Midwifery Academy Amsterdam are part of the cooperative institute of Hogeschool INHolland / University of applied sciences and VU University Medical Centre (VUmc). The academies share the same curriculum.

Home to 212 students, the Amsterdam academy is located in a building connected to the Slotervaart hospital. The Groningen academy, with 146 students, is housed in a stylish, modernised building dating back to the 1930s, a stone's throw from the Groningen University Medical Centre.

The curriculum at these academies is competence oriented, with the first and second years focusing on both case- and project-based learning. The last two years will be more focussed on high level internships combined with intracurricular theory.
