Rotterdam Midwifery Academy

A partner of the Erasmus Medical Centre and housed in one of its faculty buildings, the Rotterdam Midwifery Academy (VAR) is home to approximately 205 students. On 1 September 2008 it was integrated into the Hogeschool Rotterdam.

The Rotterdam programme combines problem- and project-based learning, and emphasises students' personal development, including individual responsibility, independence, ability to deal with diversity, social skills, evidence-based actions and lifelong learning.
